Job Title - Production Product Manager
The company’s success and growth continues, as does our desire to recruit talented professionals to join the team across all areas of the business. We currently seek a well organised, experienced and ambitious Production Product Manager to work as part of our dedicated Production Team. Some travel to the Far East will be necessary.
Remuneration :- £28-30k plus benefits
The Role :-
This team is responsible for the creation and implementation of production plans for a wide variety of product categories incorporating sourcing, sampling, costing, purchasing, production scheduling, quality control and timely delivery. All products are designed in-house and produced in the UK and Far East.
Key Objectives:
1. The creation, implementation and control of an outline production plan, encompassing the following areas of activity :-
i. The Creative process (in-house)
ii. Manufacture and delivery
iii. Quality control
iv. Picking & Distribution to our Customer within agreed timescales
2. Securing the Company’s margin objectives for the category
3. Planning production routing and capacity, material and component requirements
4. Ensure manufacturing and deliveries are completed within the timescales detailed within the outline plan
Responsibilities:
In achieving the above objectives, the successful applicant will be responsible for the manufacturing of products within the UK and China, encompassing the following areas :
Agreement of timeframes with suppliers
Price negotiation
Material sourcing, proposal & selection
Development of new processes / techniques
Specification Agreement / Communication
Construction / Format Finalisation
Margin / Cost Management & Reporting
Transit Testing
Communication to the business of progress and margin
Approval of purchase orders / invoices
Responsible for the growth and development of their staff
Key Performance Indicators:
1. Achieving customer delivery schedules.
2. Improving the profitability of the Company through reduction of manufacturing costs
3. Reducing production lead times.
The Person :-
The person will lead a small section with responsibilities for a group of items needed to support a defined group of the company's products.
You will be well organised, able to maintain the shape of the organisation and its processes and procedures in times of high activity to meet ambitious timescales and targets.
You will have experience of buying from within the UK from China and other low cost countries, understanding the nuances of commerce and overall have the ability to get things done accurately and on time.
Experience of printing our allied processes would be an advantage.
The Package :-
The remuneration package for the position is likely to be £28-30k , but will be tailored to meet both experience and ability.
